College will hold high schoolers’ open house
Parents, students can learn about duel enrollment options

   Alamance Community College will hold an open house for parents of high school students.

   The Career and College Promise Open House starts at 5 p.m.Wednesday. It will be in the auditorium of the school’s Graham campus. The new Career and College Promise program provides dual enrollment for eligible high school seniors and juniors.

   Tuition for college courses is waived for students who qualify. Some of the classes are offered at Alamance-Burlington School System facilities, while others are taught at the college.

  Among courses offered are:

  • Advertising and graphic design (videography and photography)
  • Animal care and management
  • Automotive systems
  • Business/economics
  • Carpentry
  • College-transfer classes
  • Computer information
  • Cosmetology.
  • Criminal justice
  • Culinary arts
  • Early childhood education
  • Elementary education
  • Engineering / mathematics
  • Horticulture technology
  • Humanities/social science
  • Linux/UNIX
  • Machining
  • Marketing
  • Medical assisting
  • Medical office administration
  • Networking technology
