The Alamance County Home Builders Association kicked off a food drive in conjunction with the recent Remodeling and Custom Built Home Show. The elementary schools were asked to collect canned goods for Loaves & Fishes Christian Food Ministry. The winner of this year’s challenge was the Altamahaw-Ossipee Elementary School PTA. A donation was presented by Vaughn Jarrett, president, and Robert M. Smith, past president, of the Alamance Caswell Home Builders Association. A special thanks to all participating schools who helped to collect close to 1,000 non-perishable items for Loaves & Fishes. Accepting the award were Principal Donna King; students Gabe Cheek, Nate Geiger and Bradyn Oakley; and Paula King, president of A-O PTA, accepting the check from the Homebuilders Association representatives with school counselor Linda Hines in the background.
