Southern Alamance FFA Hunter Safety Team ties for first in regional competition

The 2015 Southern Alamance High FFA Hunter Safety Team tied for first place in regional competition and sixth place in the state at the N.C. Wildlife Youth Hunter Safety competition. The overall Hunter Safety Team awards include combined scores in all four competitive events: archery, rifle, shotgun and hunter skills. Team members, from left, are Clay Bost, James Testerman, Caleb Smith, Matthew Holt, Victoria Sharpe, Brad Thompson, Cody Sharpe, Jonathan Ervin and Travis Ingle. Coaches are Keith Jones and Randy Faulkner. In other regional awards: The Southern Alamance High FFA Hunter Safety Archery Team earned first place in March at the regional N.C. Wildlife Youth Hunter Safety competition: From left, Clay Bost, Caleb Smith, Victoria Sharpe, Cody Sharpe and James Testerman. Coaches are Keith Jones and Randy Faulkner. Clay Bost earned First Place High Individual Honors in Archery with a perfect score. He is the son of Todd and Jenni Bost. The Southern Alamance High FFA Hunter Safety Rifle Team earned first place. They are, Caleb Smith, Clay Bost, James Testerman, Matthew Holt and Jonathan Ervin. Coaches are Keith Jones and Randy Faulkner. The Southern Alamance High FFA Hunter Safety Hunter Skills Team earned third place among 36 teams in April at the state championship N.C. Wildlife Youth Hunter Safety competition. The Hunter Skills competition consists of a written test on hunting and safety skills knowledge, wildlife identification, and an orienteering course using a compass. Team members included: Caleb Smith, Clay Bost, James Testerman, Cody Sharpe, Matthew Holt and Brad Thompson. Coaches are Keith Jones and Randy Faulkner.
