A day to celebrate — and get ready to hit the books

Students had the opportunity to enjoy a variety of activities during a Back to School Celebration event Saturday at Eastlawn Elementary School, hosted by St. Mark’s Church. More than 500 students and their families from the year-round school received free haircuts, backpacks and school supplies, and participated in a variety of games.
