Readers Today, Leaders Tomorrow

The New York Times announced the formation of a student council advisory group of 22 students from around the world who will read The New York Times daily this semester and tell the Times staff what pieces interested them so the Times can share those pieces with other students through their teaching and learning blog, The Learning Network.

Two Williams High juniors were chosen as founding members of the student council on the merit of the comments they wrote this summer as part of their AP English Language summer reading assignment.   Cameron Clark and Kevin Scott are juniors at Williams.

You can see a better description of what these students will do to help The Times at The Learning Network's announcement post: http://learning.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/08/24/the-learning-network-student-council-an-opportunity-for-students-honored-in-our-summer-reading-contest/  You can also read the comments that Cameron and Kevin wrote that drew The Times's attention to them in the first place.
