Southern’s FFA Nursery/Landscape team wins championship

Southern Alamance High School’s FFA Nursery/Landscape Career Development Event Team — from left, adviser Nick Anders, and Haley Fogleman, Carly Fuller, Davis Kappert and Jacob Ray — was crowned national champion at the 88th National FFA Convention at the end of October in Louisville, Ky. Individually, Kappert, Fuller and Ray respectively placed first, second and seventh nationally. This is the fourth national championship for a Southern High Nursery/Landscape team. Last year, Southern FFA also earned a national championship in the Floriculture Career Development Event. Fuller and Kappert are two-time FFA National Champions. Fuller earned First Place High Individual Honors and Davis Kappert earned Third Place High Individual Honors in 2014.
