Donations to schools roll in this month

   This has been a big month for school donations:

   Broadview Middle School got $1,000 from an anonymous donor to help students in need buy clothes meeting the dress code;

   The Mebane Business Association gave $1,000 each to E.M. Yoder Elementary School for technology, Garrett Elementary for Chromebooks, Hawfields Middle for technology maintenance and Woodlawn Middle;

   JMK Developers gave Hawfields $1,000 for materials and field trips for the chorus;

   Alexander Wilson Elementary got $1,500 from its PTO for its Mad Science Program;

   Allen Tate Co. gave $2,500 to the Alamance-Burlington School System to be used at the superintendent’s discretion;

   Front Street United Methodist Church gave $1,000 to the district’s student support division for the McKinney-Vento program for homeless students ; and

   Alamance Community College gave the Career and Technical Education Center an Accuturn brake lathe and Sunex hydraulic press worth about $8,000 together for its automotive department.
