Did you miss seeing the Mason Lovette Band at this year’s Dogwood Festival?
Have you been itching to see Crossover Drive play another show, or are you just plain ready for some rock n’ roll in a family environment? The Eastern Alamance Fieldhouse Committee and the Eastern football team have got you covered, as they are hosting a blowout kickoff-the-summer concert with the two bands headlining the show, which will be a “Salute the Troops Event.
The concert begins at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, though the gates open at 3:30 p.m.
What better way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend than by celebrating those who have served? Without the troops, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy events like this one, and any current or former military member will pay just $5 dollars at the door.
Students are also $5, while regular admission is $10 and kids under the age of six will get in for free.
The Mason Lovette Band features Matt Lovette, an Eastern Alamance graduate, while Crossover Drive features Kris Evans, also an EA alum who is the parent of current Eastern student-athlete Bree Evans. The
Mason Lovette Band has a number of covers in their arsenal, most especially country covers from artists old and new.
Crossover Drive plays the classics – everything from Aretha Franklin to Led Zeppelin, to James Brown, and everything in between.
Hot dogs, snow cones, and other concessions will be available at the event, and rafle tickets for 20+ rafle prizes will be sold. There will be a climbing wall, bouncy houses, and a dunking booth where those who are interested will get a chance to dunk an Eastern coach, teacher, or student.
