NJROTC team is eighth in nation

From left, Jonathan Solorzano, Joseph Davis, Team Commander Yuuki Butler, Michael O’Brien and Blake Cole, Western Alamance High School’s Navy JROTC Academic “Brain Brawl” Team, competed in the Navy JROTC National Brain Brawl on April 30 at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. The team finished eighth out of more than 24 teams from around the nation. Questions were about naval history, navigation, oceanography, science, geography, sports, entertainment, trivia and current events. The cadets also toured the academy and met with midshipmen, and visited Annapolis, Arlington National Cemetery and the National Museum of the Marine Corps.
