Ray Street Academy Career and Technical Education instructor Brianna Rainey was recently awarded a $3,577 Truliant Financial Education Grant to improve business education at RSA.
The funds will be spent on materials like financial calculators and banking applications to aid instruction.
Truliant Federal Credit Union created the Financial Education Fund in 2016, aiming to boost financial literacy for students in middle and high school. Each year, the fund provides grants of as much as $5,000 to public school teachers in the Carolinas and Virginia for that purpose.
