The Alamance-Burlington Board of Education is seeking written notification of interest from individuals who are eligible for and willing to fill one vacant seat on the Board of Education. The seat will have a term that will expire in December 2024.

A position on the Board requires a great deal of time. There are at least two monthly meetings, committee meetings, training sessions, and attendance at various student activities. To be eligible to fill a seat on the Board an individual must be a registered voter in Alamance County. Individuals may check with the Alamance County Board of Elections to determine their status as a registered voter.  

Interested individuals must file a written and signed notification of interest, either by mail or email to Karen Chandler, Clerk to the Board of Education, 1712 Vaughn Road, Burlington, NC 27217 or email: karen_chandler@abss.k12.nc.us

Letters of interest will be accepted through October 9, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. 

The letter of interest must contain a statement that the individual is eligible for and willing to fill the vacancy. In addition, the notification of interest should contain additional information regarding your qualifications for and interest in the office.
