Important Information

Student Illness

If a child is injured during these times, first aid will be administered by an appropriate staff member and an accident report will be completed.  Parents will be notified immediately.

School policies for student illnesses will apply to Eagle’s Nest.  Parents will be asked to pick up their child for the following:
Suspected signs of illness, nausea, diarrhea, severe difficulty breathing, sore throat, and/or temperatures above 100 degrees F.

Students will be readmitted to the program when symptoms are non-existent or when approved by a nurse practitioner/physician.

Medication of Students

When a child needs medication to be administered by the staff, the parent must do the following:

  • Send only prescribed medicine in its original container with instructions

  • Submit school medication form completed by the physician

  • Write a letter of permission allowing staff to administer medicine

  • Clearly state all side effects

  • Inform the staff when medicine should be discontinued

We encourage parents to self-administer medications to their child when at all possible.  Otherwise, our staff will be more than willing to assist you.

Procedures for Withdrawal

If a child is to be withdrawn from the Eagle’s Nest, the director must be notified two weeks (ten school days) in advance prior to the withdrawal. This notification is required to be in writing and forms can be found in the office. The two weeks of notice must be paid in full.  All accounts must be cleared at the time of leaving the program. If a balance is owed at the time of withdrawal, no child in that family will be readmitted until the entire balance is paid. Re-entry will not be guaranteed.

Discipline Procedures and Policies

The Eagle’s Nest staff is committed to providing a safe, positive, and structured environment for all children in the program.  Although Eagle’s Nest is a different setting than the regular school day, appropriate student behavior is still expected.  Please review the following rules and consequences that will guide the day care program. Essentially, our Eagles are expected to continue to SOAR during Eagles Nest just as the do during the regular school day.

Rules:
1.    Show respect at all times.
2.    Move appropriately throughout campus during daycare hours.
3.    Follow instructions set forth by the daycare worker.
4.    Refrain from damaging any school property.
5.    Refrain from disruptive behavior, fighting, violence of any kind, and inappropriate language.
6.    Comply with any and all other regulations set forth by the Eagle’s Nest Director and/or school administrators.

Consequences:

        First Offense – Warning

Second Offense – Visit to office and letter home to parents

Third Offense – Temporary suspension from Eagle’s Nest

Fourth Offense – Permanent dismissal from Eagle’s Nest

Please note that school administrators are granted the authority to exercise good judgment and apply a greater or lesser consequence than those listed above.

We ask that you discuss the information listed above with your child.  We appreciate your efforts and thank you for your continued support in making appropriate behavior a priority for all children.
