Welcome back! Did you watch the Macy's Thanksgiving parade on TV and spot Tristan from Eastern Alamance High School playing trumpet? 👀 Many schools had their own parades prior to the break, including Elon Elementary! Each class brought special themes to life in their pre-break parade - from literary connections to Global Goals. Art teacher Ms. Smith worked with every student to create unique pieces, while Media Specialist Ms. Hopper created the script and program, narrated by Principal Hurdle! Special guests included Dash robots, piloted by Robotics Club members! Families lined the campus walkways to watch their proud Lil' Phoenix march. 🦃

🌍 Hallo! Our Elon Elementary Lil' Phoenix received a special visit from Leni Henne, a Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program (CBYX) student from Mering, Germany. Currently a junior at Western Alamance High School, Leni shared fascinating insights about German culture, teaching our students common phrases like "Hallo" (Hello) and "Danke" (Thank you). Before saying "Auf Wiedersehen" (Goodbye), she treated students to delicious homemade cookies that gave them a sweet taste of home! 🇩🇪🇺🇸

🌎On Friday, November 1, Elon Elementary was proud to kick off Native American Heritage Month by hosting three ambassadors from the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina: Little Miss Lumbee Rose Odom, Junior Miss Lumbee Vedah Dial, and Teen Miss Lumbee Malaya Florita. The ambassadors shared their cultural history with us by singing, telling stories and promoting their heritage. The Lumbee, located in the eastern part of North Carolina, are the largest Native American tribe east of the Mississippi River and take their name from the Lumber River. The girls will be traveling around North and South Carolina this month speaking to schools about their pride in their culture. They certainly helped us fulfill our Global mission of feeling connected to the world!🌎
