Title II-Part A

Title II-Part A is a federal program that provides supplemental funds to local education agencies to increase student academic achievement through strategies such as: improving teacher and principal quality, increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in the classroom, and increasing the number of highly qualified principals and assistant principals in schools. Title II-Part A is also used to develop partnerships to hold local educational agencies and schools accountable for improvements in student academic achievement.

Alamance-Burlington Schools uses Title II funds to provide teachers and school leaders with a variety of professional development opportunities with the intent of improved student achievement. Title II funds are also used for teacher licensure coursework reimbursement and teacher mentoring and support.
