Since the announcement on 2/22/24 that AVS's place in the ABSS 2024-25 was uncertain, students, staff, and families have rallied to advocate for the school. At the February, March, and April ABSS Board of Education meetings there has been representation from the school community. On 4/22/2024 sixth grader Lillith Stewart spoke, thanking the board for their show of support and how she wants to graduate from AVS - "That's in six years." During a break in the meeting, Interim Superintendent William "Bill" Harrison wanted a photo with our young advocate. Dr. Harrison posted to his personal Twitter/X account.
