Rising 7th Grade Vaccine Requirements: All rising 7th grade students are required to have the Tdap booster and first dose of the meningococcal vaccine within the first 30 days of the 2025-2026 school year. Students who do not have these required vaccines on file by the 30th day of the 2025-2026 school year will be at risk of exclusion from school.Please make sure your child is up to date and submit vaccine records to Nurse Becky in the front office as soon as possible.
Southeast Colorguard: SEHS Colorguard (flag spinning and dancing) auditions are April 21-25 from 6-8pm at SEHS Band room. No experience necessary. Rising 8th and 9th graders are welcome. They will teach you everything you need to know in auditions. Wear comfortable clothes and be ready to move. Questions? Contact Dylan Hatley dylan_hatley@abss.k12.nc.us
NC Check-Ins: NC Check-Ins are interim assessments aligned to North Carolina grade-level content standards developed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). The main purpose of NC Check-Ins is to provide students, teachers, and parents with immediate data and a reliable estimate of students’ current performance on the selected content standards.
The Check-Ins will be administered on the following days:
Wednesday, April 30th: 6-8 grade Math; Math 1
Thursday, May 1st: 6-8 grade Reading
Friday, May 2nd: 8th grade Science
End-of-Grade Assessment Schedule: The North Carolina End-of-Grade (EOG) Tests are designed to measure student performance on the goals, objectives, and grade-level competencies specified in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. It is extremely important that your student is at school and on-time for their EOGs!
The EOGs will be administered on the following days:
Wednesday, May 28th: 6-8 grade Math; Math 1
Thursday, May 29th: 6-8 grade Reading
Friday, May 30th: 8th grade Science

Free Physicals: We’re excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for all ABSS middle and high school student-athletes! Kernodle Clinic is offering FREE athletic physicals at multiple locations across the district.
Open to ALL ABSS Middle and High School students, regardless of their school.
Students can attend any date or location listed below.
Physicals will begin at 4:00 PM.
