Husky Families,

Today, as we pause to honor the sacrifices of the brave men and women who have given their lives in service to our country, I hope you find time to reflect and to spend time with family and friends. As we enjoy this day off from school, let’s remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

We’re in the final stretch of our school year, with just two weeks left to finish strong. Please take a moment to review the important updates below.

As always, thank you for your support in making Hawfields a great place to work and learn!

End-of-Grade Assessment Schedule: The North Carolina End-of-Grade (EOG) Tests are designed to measure student performance on the goals, objectives, and grade-level competencies specified in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. It is extremely important that your student is at school and on-time for their EOGs! ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY.

The EOGs will be administered on the following days:

  • Wednesday, May 28th: 6-8 grade Math; Math 1

  • Thursday, May 29th: 6-8 grade Reading

  • Friday, May 30th: 8th grade Science

Unpaid Fees: As we prepare to celebrate our students at upcoming end-of-year events, including award ceremonies, the 8th grade breakfast, and promotion, please be aware that all outstanding fees must be paid for students to participate in these activities.

Fees that must be cleared include:

  • Lunch debt – Families can view and pay any outstanding balance using this link: Pay Lunch Debt

  • Technology fees – Students who owe for lost or damaged Chromebooks or chargers should have received an invoice. If you are unsure whether your student has a balance, please contact the front office. Technology fees can also be paid online at: Pay Technology Fees

We appreciate your prompt attention to these matters so that all students can fully enjoy their end-of-year celebrations.

Athletic Booster Club Meeting: We’re excited to announce an Athletic Booster Club Interest Meeting for Hawfields Middle School! This is a great opportunity for parents, guardians, and community members to learn how you can support our student-athletes and help enhance the student-athlete experience at HMS.

  • Date & Time: Wednesday, May 28th 5:30PM-6:30PM

  • Location: Hawfields Middle School, Cafeteria

Whether you’re interested in volunteering, fundraising, or simply learning more, we’d love to have you there.

Perrou Cup Championship: We are thrilled to share that our Athletic Department has officially won a share of the Perrou Cup Championship for the 2024-2025 School year.
