Attention all JUNIORS- Statewide ACT day:

This Wednesday, February 25th all juniors at EA will participate in the statewide administration of the ACT.  This is a great FREE opportunity for our juniors.  Whether they are headed straight to a 4 year university or still exploring their options, taking this test and doing their best is an important next step.  Our students have been preparing for this opportunity every Monday during EAgle time and we are excited to see that hard work pay off!  Check here to find out where you will be testing Wednesday morning: ACT Student Testing Locations

ACC Info Sessions:

As we move into the spring registration season, Alamance Community College will be hosting an information session via Zoom on February 24th at 5:30 pm. You can sign up here. If your student is a rising Junior or Senior planning to take classes at ACC during the 2026-2027 school year, we strongly encourage you to attend one of the sessions. Topics covered include pathways open to high school students, scheduling ACC classes, transfer credits, and much more. See the attached flyers for additional info!

Course Registration for the 26-27 School Year:

Our counselors have been meeting and will continue to meet with our students to help them select their classes for next school year.  It is important that students make selections that will help prepare them for their future and ones that will interest them.  Once student schedules are finalized, there will be very little opportunity for schedules to be adjusted.  So please take time to make informed decisions.  Check out the ABSS Course Registration Manual to see all that ABSS and EA has to offer.

EAgle time:

All students will report to their homeroom during EAgle time on Tuesday.  There will be no EAgle time on Wednesday due to the ACT testing.

Attendance Matters:

Showing up to school matters.  Everyday you are at school you are building good habits for the future, supporting each other and strengthening our school community.  This year as a school we have set an attendance goal of 91%.  Help us to reach this goal by showing up everyday and being ready to learn!

ABSS Rezoning Information and Timeline:
ABSS is launching a district-wide attendance zone planning process focused on balanced enrollment, efficient transportation, and the long-term stability of our schools.  The district as evolved over time as some schools are over capacity and others have available space.  New housing continues to shift the population.  This process will help the district plan responsibly for the future.  You can participate by attending the Solution Sessions on March 3rd at Williams High School or March 4th at  Southeast High School.  The  sessions will begin at 6:00.  You can find more detailed information on the student assignment webpage.

Senate Page Program:

The Senate Page Program offers high school students a firsthand look at state government and the legislative process. Applications for the 2026 session will open at 9:00 am on Tuesday, February 3. The program is open to students who are in tenth, eleventh, or twelfth grade during the 2025-2026 school year. Each North Carolina Senator may appoint up to 2 pages for the session, and service weeks are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.  The program is currently scheduled to run from April 27 through June 25, 2026 (dates subject to change). Parents or guardians are responsible for securing lodging.  Interested students should contact Senator Galey's office to request sponsorship and begin the application process. Additional details,  including eligibility requirements, weekly schedules, and FAQs, are available on the Senate Page Program website

Cell Phones:

The majority of our student body is doing a great job with the ABSS Wireless Communication Device ProceduresAs a quick reminder, wireless devices should be placed away from students (in the cell phone holders) during instructional time.  We should not be able to see them on students (in pockets, in ears, etc.)  Thank you for your continued support with these new procedures.
