Please take a few minutes to read all of the information below. As we near the end of the school year, we have a lot of events happening.
A big thank you to Mrs. Copeland, Mrs. Brantley, the prom committee and all of the staff members who helped with Prom. It was a great night in the Enchanted Forest. Congratulations to T’Kariya Wiley and Joseph Wetter, our 2026 Prom Queen and King!
Teacher Appreciation Week:
This week is set aside to celebrate our teachers. We are so fortunate to have an amazing group of teachers at EAHS! Please take a moment this week to say thank you to your student’s teachers for all they do.
Nurse Appreciation Day:
Wednesday, May 6th is Nurse Appreciation Day. We are lucky to have Nurse Garrett and can’t thank her enough for all the band-aids, bags of ice, phone calls, and any other medical support needed!
Athletics:
Good luck to our golfers and track teams as they have wrapped up the regular season and are beginning regionals this week. We also want to wish good luck to our baseball team and softball teams asNCHSAA state tournament play begins this week! Our women’s soccer and lacrosse teams will wrap up the regular season of play this week.
Transportation for 26-27 School Year:
If your student requires bus transportation next year, you must complete the request form before June 5, 2026. All current and new bus riders have to complete the form. If you do not complete this form before June 5, 2026, you will not be guaranteed transportation when school begins in August.

Attendance Matters:
Our Sweet to Succeed Attendance Challenge has begun. Students who have perfect attendance from Monday, April 20 - Thursday, May 7 will be invited to an Ice Cream Social that will take place this Friday, May 8th during 4th block. This will take place at the football stadium (weather permitting) where we will offer different field games and activities for students to take part in. We provide more logistical details of this event at a later date.
This year as a school we have set an attendance goal of 91%.

Free Physicals provided by Kernodle Clinic:
ABSS students may attend any day for any zone. They must bring the completed duke medical waiver with them as well as a blank physical form. Physicals will be given from 4:00-6:00

Miss Eastern:
Make plans to Join us on Tuesday, May 12th for our annual Miss Eastern Pageant. Doors will open at 6 and the pageant will begin at 6:30. Tickets are $10. For more information reach out to Ms. Jackowski at dana_jackowski@abss.k12.nc.us.
Summer School Registration:
Did you fail a core course with a score between 45%-59%? Are you a senior that needs to recover a course? You're invited to summer school! This year, summer school will be held for three weeks, Monday through Thursday, June 8th-25th, from 9 AM to 12 PM. Once you complete the course(s) you need to recover, you will be finished and do not need to attend for the remainder of days. By attending summer school, you have an opportunity to earn credits that will put you back on-track for graduation. Unfortunately there is no transportation or lunch provided. Please complete this form so that we know you are coming!
AP Exam Schedule:
AP Exams will begin the first week of May. Please ensure that you review this schedule in order to know when your exam(s) will be administered. If you miss a scheduled AP exam there is a fee to take the make-up exam. Please make every effort to be there and on time. Spring Exam Schedule:
Take a moment to review the Spring Exam Schedule so that you know the days and times you need to be on campus. If you have any questions, please ask your teacher or Mr. Hemminger at william_hemminger@abss.k12.nc.us.
Cell Phones:
The majority of our student body is doing a great job with the ABSS Wireless Communication Device Procedures. As a quick reminder, wireless devices should be placed away from students (in the cell phone holders) during instructional time. We should not be able to see them on students (in pockets, in ears, etc.) Thank you for your continued support with these new procedures.
Parking Lot:
Students should not be in the parking lots for any reason unless they are leaving to go to ACC, CTEC or are leaving to go home (either with Early Release or they have been signed out in the front office).
Seniors:
If you haven’t picked up your cap & gown yet, they are available in student support. If you still need to order one use this link. Make sure that you are checking your email and our Senior Website for the most up to date information.
Parking Pass:
Any student parking on campus should have a valid parking pass displayed. Please use this link to purchase a pass. Students who park on campus without a pass are subject to having their car towed at the owner’s expense. All other school fees/fines must be paid in order for you to be able to purchase a parking pass.
