This is Principal Suzanne Simpson with your weekly updates. Today, at 3:00 in the EA auditorium is the Spring Dance Concert. On Tuesday, our band will be holding their final concert of the year. We hope to see you at both events!
Good luck to our women’s soccer team as they travel to Oak Grove High School on Tuesday to play in the 3rd round of the NCHSAA state tournament.
Opengate Weapons Detection Systems:
As we continue to utilize the Opengate Weapons Detection System on campus we wanted to send a few reminders and updates. The locations at the bus lot, trophy case hallway, and upper lot will close at 8:40 to allow students time to get to class as the tardy bell rings at 8:45. Students who arrive after 8:40 am should walk around to the front office entrance to be screened. This will give them the opportunity to get a tardy pass as well. During the school day, the location at the gym/trophy case hallways will open 10 minutes prior to each class change for students who are coming to campus for the first time. If you arrive at any other time, you must walk around to the front office. Please help us keep our campus secure by not opening exterior doors for anyone.
Transportation for 26-27 School Year:
If your student requires bus transportation next year, you must complete the request form before June 5, 2026. All current and new bus riders have to complete the form. If you do not complete this form before June 5, 2026, you will not be guaranteed transportation when school begins in August.

This year, summer school will be held for three weeks, Monday through Thursday, June 8th-25th, from 9 AM to 12 PM. Once you complete the course(s) you need to recover, you will be finished and do not need to attend for the remainder of days. Green & Gold’n Globes:
We will have a year-end athletics banquet for ALL student-athletes, coaches, and parents. on May 28th! The event will start with refreshments in the gymnasium at 6:00 pm followed by an awards ceremony in the auditorium. This is a time for us to celebrate all that our EA sports teams have accomplished. Individual awards will be given for each team in addition to several school wide awards and we will recognize all conference athletes, sportsmanship winners, and 3 sport athletes. Show up in your dress attire, walk the red carpet and let’s celebrate! Make plans now to attend!
Cell Phones:
The majority of our student body is doing a great job with the ABSS Wireless Communication Device Procedures. As a quick reminder, wireless devices should be placed away from students (in the cell phone holders) during instructional time. We should not be able to see them on students (in pockets, in ears, etc.) Thank you for your continued support with these new procedures.
Parking Lot:
Students should not be in the parking lots for any reason unless they are leaving to go to ACC, CTEC or are leaving to go home (either with Early Release or they have been signed out in the front office).

If you haven’t picked up your cap & gown yet, they are available in student support. If you still need to order one use this link. Make sure that you are checking your email and our Senior Website for the most up to date information.
