We are happy to announce that Jena Hazelwood will be returning to South Graham Elementary School as the new Assistant Principal!
Ms. Hazelwood brings experience and a deep-rooted connection to our community. Many will remember her from her previous impactful roles at South Graham Elementary, including serving as a Curriculum and Data Specialist, Test Coordinator, Media Specialist, Technology Facilitator, and a Second Grade English Teacher for the Spanish Immersion Program. In these capacities, she led professional learning communities, analyzed data to drive instruction, managed standardized testing, integrated technology into learning, and collaborated closely with staff to enhance student achievement.
Ms. Hazelwood is a proud alumna of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, holding a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Master's in Library and Information Studies, and a Post Master's Licensure in Educational Leadership.
Sharing her excitement about returning, Ms. Hazelwood said, "I am honored and ecstatic to be back home at South Graham Elementary! It is a great pleasure to help in creating a culture of caring, competence, and excellence that nurtures positive relationships, strengthens self-efficacy, and prioritizes communication. I am looking forward to impacting student outcomes and growing teacher capacity through evidenced based practices!"
