Who is this fairy? Where did it come from? Wellllllll, our Garrett Gator Fairy came from the hearts of our Swamp Parents and the need for giving back! 💨You all blew us away with our Feed the Need initiative and now we present Garrett’s Gator Fairy, who gladly accepts donations to help SPREAD that GATOR LOVE all over our Swamp and community.  Our Gator Fairy would like to make sure things like taxes on top of the book price, untimely (financial) events, or being short some change don’t keep our Gators from getting the book they want. Garrett’s Gator Fairy is now accepting donation for the BOOK FAIR! Gator Families 🐊 Ms. Minor has some exciting news....the Spring 📘Book 📗Fair 📕 is coming soon. She will be talking about the book fair with students during media classes and the students will visit during their assigned media time during the week of March 9th-March 17th. We appreciate your support with any purchase made in person or online during our Spring Book Fair. All sales directly support our school. Ms Minor will have an open shop time from 11:00-11:30 each day (except Thursday) for students who have money and didn't get to shop/purchase during their assigned book fair time. She will have special evening hours from 4:30-7:00 on March 10th, during tile night. We invite families to shop during this time as well.

Gator 🐊 Families Our PTO received all nominations and have created and sent the ballots ✉️ out to all of our Gators. Please be on the look 👀out in your child folder/book bag for your ballot. Please complete one ballot ✉️per student and return to your child's teacher. They will place them in the ballot box 🗳️ at the school. All PTO ballots are due no later than March 10th. 🎨🖌️TILE NIGHT is Friday, MARCH 10th🖌️🎨 🐊Join our PTO in the cafeteria as we paint tiles that will be installed and displayed in the hallways of Garrett. This is a Gator Tradition unlike any other. Our students will have their Classroom Pictures taken with their homeroom on Tuesday, February 21st. Please be reminded that your child will need to send in the order envelope with either the online payment information or payment of $10.00 to purchase this keepsake. Please let your child's teacher know if you need another payment envelope.

A representative from Lowes Foods of Mebane came to see us here at Garrett on Thursday, February 16th, to present a $294.30 donation to our school. We are proud to count Lowes Foods of Mebane among our donors, an important role that they have played twice a year for the last few years. Their generosity is truly appreciated. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

This week, February 13th-17th, is "Love the Bus" week! Please join us in celebrating our bus drivers and showing them lots of love throughout the week. Our school bus drivers work diligently to bring the students to school safely and get them home safely each and every day. In some cases, this is the first and last school employee that your child interacts with every day. For students that don’t ride the bus daily, the same drivers drive for our grade level field trips as well. Throughout the week, we will have valentine bags for each driver set up in the hallway. We encourage students to write them a note of appreciation or a special Valentine for all that they do for the students at Garrett. We will give these bags to the drivers on Friday. If you see your child’s bus driver at the bus stop this week, please give them an extra smile and tell them thank you as we celebrate Love the Bus week February 13th-17th.
