Hello Broadview Middle School Parents and Guardians,
Yesterday, students were sent home with a five-day remote learning packet. These materials were thoughtfully prepared by our teachers to support continued learning should ABSS be closed at any point during the coming week.
At this time, there has been no announcement regarding school closures within ABSS. However, if a closure does occur, Broadview Middle School is prepared to transition smoothly. In that event, families will have access to the remote learning packets, a schedule outlining virtual availability for teachers to answer questions regarding the learning packets, and links to virtual classrooms for additional support.
All of this information will be posted on the BMS website (https://www.abss.k12.nc.us/o/bms) if school is closed, so please watch for future updates.
As we prepare for the inclement weather ahead, we wish you a safe and warm weekend.
Thank you for your continued support,
Broadview Middle School

------------------------------------------------

Escuela Secundaria Broadview

Incredible news for our students! Tanger Outlets, Mebane presented four grants to our schools this week. Take a look at these transformative school projects: 🌟 Denise Bungardy (Elon Elementary) - A $1,285 sensory room featuring specialized equipment like bubble tubes, weighted blankets, and sound machines to help students with autism and sensory needs better regulate themselves and engage in learning. The room will provide vestibular, tactile, visual, and auditory input in a safe space. 🌟 Loretta Atkins (North Graham/South Mebane Elementary) - A $2,373 project replacing worn playground equipment with 25 new commercial-grade swings, ensuring all K-5 students at both schools can safely enjoy active play. These schools serve a combined total of 25 swings between them. 🌟 Chanel Jones (Broadview Middle) - A $2,500 classroom laundry initiative providing students with access to washers, dryers, and supplies while teaching essential life skills. The program includes a confidential service system and life skills curriculum about laundry care and time management. 🌟 Amy Chinnici (Sellars Gunn Education Center) - A $500 'TOUCH of Literacy' project creating multi-sensory storybook kits with tactile objects to help visually impaired students better understand and engage with literature. The project will develop 10 specialized learning kits this school year. Thank you Tanger Outlets for investing in innovative solutions that support student success across our district!
