Eighth graders from all middle schools are taking turns touring our Career & Technical Education Center and Graham High School this week! They're getting a sneak peek at exciting CTE classes where high school students learn welding, fire safety, construction, and more through hands-on training with industry equipment and expert teachers. These programs lead to industry certifications and careers in high-demand fields!

A high school instructor wearing safety gear including a welding helmet and blue gloves demonstrates welding equipment to a group of middle school students in a workshop area with yellow walls. The visiting students watch attentively as they learn about the welding program.
In a woodworking shop, an instructor in a gray t-shirt and baseball cap discusses equipment while standing next to a table saw with dust collection system. Tools line the wall in the background as visiting students observe the demonstration.
Six students pose in a fire safety classroom, five wearing black uniform shirts and one in full firefighter turnout gear with reflective stripes. Emergency equipment including traffic cones and red gear bags are visible in the background, demonstrating the program's professional training environment.
Our Varsity Boys basketball game has been moved up to 6 pm this evening following the JV Boys Basketball game. Come out and support our Red Devil athletes as they take on Bartlett-Yancey High School.

Good evening GHS families, This week is our basketball teams will kick off their seasons. Tuesday evening the Red Devils will travel to Roxboro Community School. The JV Boys will begin at 4:30PM followed by the Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys. On Friday November 22nd, our basketball teams will return to action for our home opener against Excelsior Classical Academy. The Varsity Girls will begin at 6PM and Varsity Boys will follow. Seniors that were contacted by Mr. Brown regarding the WorkKeys assessment will test on Thursday, November the 21st in room V320. Please be on the lookout for more information. On Monday the 18th: Job Interview Jumbo Jenga in cafeteria during lunch. Winners will receive candy or other prizes! Thursday and Friday the will be Career Exploration using VR Headsets during Redtime. Please see Ms. Sykes for more information. Parents, who have not already done so, please complete the Opt-In survey that is linked on the GHS Facebook and Instagram page. Your students photos will not be included in the yearbook without the parental approval. We will need information for any student who may go by a different name. Other items on the survey include information regarding the reproductive health unit for Heath and P.E., assistance from the ABSS athletic trainer and also biometric activities. Students and families, a few weeks ago ABSS sent out a survey asking students and families about the traits that are valued the most in a principal. The reason the district shared this survey is because at the conclusion of winter break, I will be transitioning to a new role with Durham Public Schools. I would like to thank each and every family and student who has made me feel welcome and a part of the Graham community over the past six years. The work and growth that has been made, is still top priority. At this time, there has not been a new principal named. This announcement will follow one of the upcoming ABSS Board meetings. These are all of the announcements for the evening. Remember that everyday is a great day to be a Red Devil.

This past Saturday, our school celebrated Hispanic Family Night, which included dances, live music, food, game, prizes, and local organizations. We invited Alamance Citizens for Drug-Free Communities and Valores. The dance performances were led by Huepa Cultura, and the band was Grupo Nueva Herencia. It was a great time to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Check out the video here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lHGgKE5z-auqL6WBPcw-UE2F4WxZc404/view
