Cheer tryouts are today! Who's ready?

Good Afternoon Huskies! This is Ms. Thompson with an important message about Summer Bridge next week.
This is a reminder that Summer Bridge starts on Monday, August 7th and will end on Thursday, August 10th. Students will need to be dropped off (by car or bus) at 8:30am and staff will guide them to the cafeteria for breakfast. Students will attend classes from 9:00am - 1:00pm, which includes a 45-minute lunch. Students may bring their own lunch and a water bottle. NO other supplies are needed. Dismissal is at 1:00pm. All buses should be off the lot by 1:10pm. We have a total of 139, 6th grade students attending. A great time is going to be had by all!
When it comes to transportation, the deadline was extended to August 1st. Please use the document, in your email, to identify the corner stop your student will need to be at in order to catch the bus to HMS. If you are unsure, please drop your student off on Day #1, make sure you see me, and I will add him or her to the route for that afternoon so the driver can pick up at your stop starting Tuesday morning.

Coach English will hold a Cheer Interest Meeting on Thursday, August 3rd from 6:00pm - 7:00pm in the gymnasium. Cheer tryouts will begin the week of August 7th - 10th, from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. The 2023-2024 HMS Cheerleading team will be announced on August 11th and practice will begin the following week, on August 14th. Southeast Alamance High School invites you to their Community Open House and Meet the Stallions Day. The event will be held on Saturday, August 12th from 9:00 until 11:00. Make plans to come out and see your future high school. The staff is looking forward to meeting their future Stallions!

Softball Tryouts will be held on August 28-30, from 3:30-5:30. Meet Coach Gillis and Coach Shelton at the softball field. All DragonFly paperwork and a current physical must be completed in order to participate.

This is a reminder that ALL rising 6th graders are invited to attend 4 jam-packed, fun, and engaging days at Hawfields Middle School from August 7th - 10th! Through games, role play, creative expression, and discussion, your rising 6th grader will "Sail Smoothly" into HMS and 6th grade! A light breakfast, lunch, and transportation are provided.
