The following are items that a student should bring to school daily.

During Open House, our teachers may share additional supply lists specific to the course they’re teaching.

  • Bookbag: A sturdy and comfortable backpack is essential for carrying books, notebooks, and other supplies. Consider one with padded straps and multiple compartments for organization.

  • Binder System:

    • One or two 1 or 2-inch, 3-ring binders: Students might prefer one larger binder for all classes or two smaller ones.

    • Tab dividers: These are crucial for organizing notes and handouts by subject within the binder(s).

  • Laptops & Chargers:

    • School-issued laptops and chargers should come to school each day. Students are responsible for ensuring they do not become damaged.

  • Writing & Note-Taking:

    • College-ruled loose-leaf paper: This is a daily necessity for notes, assignments, and in-class work.

    • Pens: A variety of blue or black pens for everyday writing.

    • Pencils: Essential for math, science, and any work where mistakes need to be erased.

    • Highlighters (multi-color pack): Useful for emphasizing key information in textbooks, notes, and handouts.

  • Organization & Study Aids:

    • Wired Headphones: Necessary for computer lab activities, listening to educational videos, or working independently without disturbing others. Southern Alamance's new wireless communication policy does NOT allow for wireless headphones.

  • Optional (But Highly Recommended) Additions:

    • Planner or Agenda: Helps students keep track of assignments, deadlines, and extracurricular activities.

    • Index cards/Notecards (3x5 or 4x6): Great for creating flashcards, quick notes, and studying.

    • Refillable Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is important throughout the school day.
