As part of our School Improvement plan, AVS will survey students on topics such as support from adults at AVS, feelings about participation in class, interest in class topics, etc.
Parents/guardians must provide consent for students to take part in the survey. To opt-in for your student to take this survey, please complete the form below.
The information gained from surveying students on these areas will help us focus on activities that will engage students, which in turn helps them succeed. The survey will be given in Winter and Spring of 2024.

The Spring Semester starts Wednesday, January 24, 2024. For our high school students, remember that your Spring Semester courses will not appear in Canvas until the morning of the 24th. For our students in grades 4-8, there are no changes to your teachers and class schedule.
On 1/17/24, Grades 4-8 are on the "standard" 2-hr Delay Shedule. Our Math 1 and Math 3 students in high school are taking their Exams (End of Course Tests) ON-SITE at Sellars-Gunn and should report by 10:30 with their charged device 💻 and cord 🔌. https://bit.ly/AVSSchedules

Save the Date! 🗓️ Join us for a fun and informative evening at the last Family University of the year, January 29th at Cummings High School! 🌟 A light dinner will be provided at no cost to families before you choose from many useful sessions on topics like registering for high school courses, career and technical education opportunities, and elementary reading and math strategies. Several sessions will also be available in Spanish (Algunas sesiones también estarán disponibles en español.) Childcare will be available for children from Pre-K to 5th grade, so the whole family can participate. The Family University is a great chance to get helpful information while connecting with other families and teachers. We hope to see you there - don't miss this valuable opportunity to support your student's growth and education!

AVS wishes all our students a great Winter Break! Please enjoy this time with loved ones to recharge! Classes resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Here are some suggestions for students to make sure logging in on the first day back from break goes smoothly:
❄Put your Chromebook and charger where you can find it in January. If you have notebooks/notes/material for classes keep those with your device.
❄Before class on 1/2/2024 check to make sure your device and browser have the most updated software.
❄Be sure you know your login information for Google and Canvas. If you need to write down your email address and other login information to remember them, do that.
❄When the calendar turns to 2024, be sure your device is plugged in to be fully charged as school resumes.
