We’ve had plenty of practice with our safety routines this week! Yesterday morning, we successfully completed a scheduled lockdown drill. Then today, a bit of vacuum cleaner dust unexpectedly set off our fire alarm—giving us an unplanned opportunity to practice a swift and successful evacuation drill.
Our students and staff did a wonderful job following all protocols quickly and calmly. Thank you for your continued support as we keep our school safe! If you have questions about our safety protocols, please reference the included parent letter.

Good evening Third Grade Parents only,
As part of the Read to Achieve law passed by the General Assembly in 2012, your child will take the Beginning-of-Grade 3 (BOG3) English Language Arts/Reading Test to establish a baseline measure of his or her reading skills.
The BOG3 will be administered on Thursday , September 10. Following the test administration, you will receive an Individual Student Report with your child’s score. The report will be available through the Parent Portal on Thursday, October 4.
If you are unable to access the Parent Portal, please contact your child’s school to request a hard copy of the report.
A copy of the BOG3 letter that your child will bring home this week is attached to this email for your reference.

Please note the following arrival procedures for tomorrow:
Drop-Off: ALL students must arrive via the car line or school bus moving forward. Parents are not permitted to walk students into the building during morning arrival unless you have direct permission from Dr. Westmoreland.
Tardies (7:55 AM – 8:10 AM): Students arriving during this window are considered tardy. Please park in the front or side lot, walk your child through the Weapons Detection System at the side entrance (brown awning), and check them in at the main office.
Late Arrivals (After 8:10 AM): All entry shifts exclusively to the main front doors (white awning). Late arrivals/guardians/visitors will still have to walk through the Weapons Detections System.
