Garrett Elementary is happy to welcome Officer Cherry to the swamp as our School Resource Officer (SRO). Officer Erica Cherry is a member of the Mebane Police Department and has served as a police officer for the past 10 years. As a Durham native she graduated with a criminal justice degree from North Carolina Central University. " I am looking forward to serving the Garrett Elementary School community," said Officer Cherry. We are pleased and excited to have Officer Cherry as a member of our school as the School Resource Officer (SRO). Our hope is that the students, staff, and families make her feel welcome as they see her throughout the building and on campus.
