TOMORROW is the annual PTO Duty-Free Teacher Winter Holiday luncheon. Our faculty and staff are very excited for this annual tradition. The PTO is hosting a holiday luncheon for the faculty and staff at Garrett and are requesting a variety of desserts for the luncheon. The sign up sheet gives different ideas to send in. Please have all desserts here by 10:00 on December 14th for the luncheon.

Gator Families:
We are still in need of some volunteers for the annual Gingerbread Shop. Please look at your calendars and see if you can come in to help our students with this fun event any time between December 5th-December 9th.
Each class will visit the Gingerbread shop throughout the week. Volunteers will assist students with shopping within their budget, monitoring students while shopping and waiting to shop, helping check out the students, and re-stocking items for students to shop.

On Friday we were excited and honored to celebrate our 2023 Teacher of the Year Ms. Jessica Whitson and our 2023 Classified Employee of the Year, Ms. Teresa Snider. Both of these Gators are a huge part of our school and we are blessed to have them here. Ms. Whitson spreads positivity to not only her students where she is kind and nurturing, but also to her colleagues/friends that she supports in any way she can on a daily basis. Ms. Snider is always flexible and is the first to jump in to help in any way showing she is always going the extra mile. Both of these Gators do so much for our students each day. Thank you and congratulations to Ms. Whitson and Ms. Snider!

Don’t forget….It’s McTeacher's Night (tonight) Tuesday, November 15th, 2022
from 5 to 8 p.m.
We know it is cold and messy out so let Garrett “serve” you and your family dinner tonight at the McDonalds on Mebane-Oaks Road.
We invite all of our Gator families who love and support Garrett to head to McDonald's for dinner where 15% of the sales will go to the school.
Teachers will be working hard to raise this money under the Golden Arches. Who will be there….come out and see!!!

It is time for our 1st McTeacher night of the 2022-2023 school year. Our teachers and PTO will be “working” to serve you at McDonald's on Tuesday, November 15th between 5:00-8:00pm. Please plan to eat dinner with the staff of Garrett serving you your meals. We will have representatives working at the registers, in the dining room, and at both windows of the drive thru. We encourage you to come out and help support Garrett, as a portion of the proceeds goes to Garrett from the sales at the restaurant between 5:00-8:00 at the McDonald's on Mebane Oaks Road. We can’t wait to see everyone there!!

This is just a reminder that school will be closed for students and staff tomorrow, Friday, November 11th in observance of Veteran's Day. We would like to say thank you to all of our veterans for their service.
Gator Parents and Guardians-
Our PTO general meeting is Monday, November 14th beginning at 5:30. We encourage and invite everyone to attend if possible. The meeting will be held in the media center for those who plan to attend. There will also be a zoom link for those that cannot participate in person. Please plan to join the PTO Monday to learn more about all the exciting events that they have planned and additional ways to get involved. Our PTO hopes that you will attend either in person or on zoom on Monday, November 14th.
