National Principal's Month
Big night in Charlotte celebrating Adara Barnes (pictured second from the right)! She was recognized as a Finalist for Burroughs Wellcome Fund NCCAT-The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching Career & Technical Education Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Barnes is a passionate Health Sciences teacher at Career & Technical Education Center, preparing the future nurses and caretakers of the community!

That's not all: Superintendent Dr. Fleming (left of Adara) was named a Finalist in the Superintendent Awards for his work in championing Career & Technical Education programs across the district. Congratulations, Dr. Fleming!

Finally, the Alamance-Caswell Builders Association was recognized as a key community business-education partner. Through initiatives like the annual Carpenters Cup and monthly work-based learning committee meetings, the Association bridges the gap between classrooms and careers. By offering paid internships, classroom mentoring visits, and field trips, and by hosting a 2027 Trades Expo, it is building a strong, skilled local talent pipeline for the construction industry.

Christian Miller received 3rd place in the High School Graphic Design Competition. Arely Castillo Manuel placed 4th in the High School Design Competition.

National Custodian Day
Beginning on Friday, September 11th, you may bring your home school parking pass in to the front office to receive a CTEC tag. If you are a Williams student who utilizes road parking, please bring your license (no money required) to the front desk. Passes must be displayed. Officer Gonzalez and Ms. Mills monitor the parking lot.

ANNOUNCEMENT: CTEC Dress Code & Safety Standards


As CTEC courses involve dynamic, hands-on learning environments both on and off campus, maintaining appropriate dress standards is essential for student safety and professional readiness. All students are expected to dress appropriately for an active workplace setting every day.

Dress Code Requirements:

Tops: All shirts must reach the waist, and shoulders must be covered.

Bottoms: Pants, skirts, or shorts must be long enough to allow comfortable movement throughout all daily activities.

Jewelry: Chains and large jewelry should not be worn to ensure safety during hands-on work.

Thank you for prioritizing safety and helping us maintain a professional environment across all programs.

Congratulations to Ms. Barnes! She has been selected as a finalist for the 2027 Burroughs Wellcome Fund NC Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year Award, presented by the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT). She will be recognized during the Summer Conference Keynote and Awards Gala on July 14th. She has also been invited to the NCCAT’s Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year Program at the end of October.

Our CTEC students had a blast visiting Haw River Elementary on Thursday (April 16) to share all the cool hands-on programs we offer! It was awesome seeing the younger kids get excited about their future possibilities in everything from healthcare to construction.
