National Administrative Professionals Week : National Administrative Professionals Day recognized on Wednesday, April 22. While we have several incredible administrative professionals at Eastlawn, we want to take a moment to highlight and deeply appreciate Ms. Sherri, Ms. Karla, and Ms. Mann.
Ms. Sherri, our financial secretary (and often our nurse when needed), Ms. Karla, our translator who ensures all families feel welcomed and connected, and Ms. Mann, our data manager who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, each of you is essential to the heartbeat of our school.

This week we celebrate SSW Bethea for the incredible care and dedication she brings to Eastlawn Global Elementary every day. She works tirelessly supporting students, helping families, monitoring attendance, assisting with CFT meetings, and connecting our community to housing, financial, and social emotional resources.

What a powerful day at Eastlawn!
Our staff represented the many colleges and universities we attended, and students were amazed seeing how many different schools were in the building.
Of course, we cheered loud for our alma maters! 🐾
The most impactful moment?
Students realized that becoming an EDUCATOR requires advanced degrees which means YOU (Panthers) are IMPORTANT.
That understanding was powerful.
Today wasn’t just about college shirts,it was about exposure, inspiration, and showing our Panthers what’s possible. 💙💛

We are excited to launch our All Hands on Deck campaign! We know that when students are in class, they are building the habits, relationships, and confidence they need to thrive. As we sail towards the end of the school year, we’ve set our sights on improved attendance district-wide! Every school has created incentives and celebrations for hitting this target! 🎯
Facts on Attendance:
📉 Missing just 2 days per month can cause a student to fall behind academically.
🎓 Strong attendance is the #1 predictor of reading at grade level and graduating on time.
🤝 Being in school every day builds the routines and social connections that help students succeed.
How Families Can Help:
✅ Set consistent bedtime and morning routines.
✅ Prepare backpacks and clothes the night before for a smooth start.
✅ Schedule appointments outside of school hours whenever possible.
We are "All Hands on Deck" to support our students, and we thank you for being partners in education! We know it takes a community to help a child thrive. This includes educators providing engaging lessons, parents ensuring a structured routine, and students putting in the effort. We need everyone working together to finish the year strong. ABSS will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Friday, February 6. Temperatures are expected to be below 30-degrees and there are many wet roads that can freeze. The delay will allow for more daylight as everyone begins traveling in the morning. Staff and families are urged to use caution and give themselves extra time to get to school and work in the morning. As a reminder, these decisions are made with the safety of our staff and students in mind. We hope to be on a normal schedule next week!

Despite the sun and slightly warmer temperatures today, many roads are still covered in ice and snow. Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 3, will be an Optional Teacher Workday. There will be no school for students. There will also be no athletics or after-school activities. The Rezoning Community Session at Southeast Alamance High School has been rescheduled to Monday, February 9th, at 6:00 pm. Thanks again to our Facilities & Maintenance crew for assessing road conditions, sharing these photos from around our county, and clearing our school lots and walkways.
