Battle of the Books

The EMY Battle of the Books team is open to any student in the fourth or fifth grade. Students are required to read all books selected by the ABSS Media Specialists/AIG teachers from the NC Battle of the Book list (usually consists of 16 books).

Student meet with Ms. Cranford to touch base with deadlines and comprehension quizzes and activities.  Mock Battles and computer quizzes help get our team ready for the county wide battle in April each year!

The E.M. Yoder Battle of the Books Team have won the District Championship two years in a row (2021-2022 and 2022-2023).

We hope to introduce more clubs for the 2023-2024 school year.
