Please be aware of a road closure that may impact your commute to and from school. The North Carolina Department of Transportation (DOT) has closed a portion of Southern High School Road between Bellemont Mount Hermon Road and Rogers Road.
This closure will create a detour and likely cause increased traffic congestion around the school, particularly during peak drop-off and pick-up times. We recommend you plan for at least an additional 8-10 minutes of travel time.
Here are the two recommended detour options:
If you are traveling South towards the school: Continue on Bellemont Mount Hermon Rd and make a slight left turn onto Southern High Mount Herman Rd, which will take you back to Southern High School Rd.
If you are traveling North towards the school: Continue on Bellemont Mount Hermon Rd to NC Hwy 49. Make a right turn onto NC Hwy 49, then a right turn onto Monroe Holt Rd. From there, make a right turn onto Lacy Holt Rd, followed by a right turn onto Rogers Rd, which will lead you to Southern High School Rd.
