ABSS Statement: Bus Accident Update

We are relieved to learn today that all students have been released from the hospital following the ABSS bus wreck last week.

We want to thank our dedicated B. Everett Jordan Elementary administrators, staff, and our District support team including counselors, social workers, and nurses for all they've done to support these students since the wreck.

Anytime an incident like this occurs, children naturally have questions and concerns. Our caring staff has worked diligently to address students' worries, even those not directly involved in the accident, to ease any fears they may have.

As a District, we are committed to continuing to provide support to the injured students as they return to the classroom.

We once again want to thank the first responders, volunteers, and compassionate community members who quickly came to the aid of our students. Since the wreck we have learned of more selfless individuals who stopped to assist the students that day. For that we are deeply grateful.
