Williams High School is proud to announce the inaugural Central City Classic, the premier girls basketball event in North Carolina, to be held on Saturday, December 16 at Williams High School in Burlington.
Presented in partnership with HOPE Radio 104.5 as the main sponsor, the Central City Classic will showcase elite girls high school basketball programs from across the state. The event's mission is to highlight the high level of talent in North Carolina girls basketball by matching up top-tier teams in competitive matchups.
"We're thrilled to partner with Williams High to present the inaugural Central City Classic and provide a platform for the best girls basketball teams in NC to face off," said India Kingery, Morning Show Co-Host of HOPE Radio 104.5. "This event is sure to be a can't-miss for players, coaches, and fans."
The Central City Classic schedule features:
Game 1 at 1:00pm: Asheville School vs Clover Garden
Game 2 at 2:30pm: Ashe County vs Northwood
Game 3 at 4:30pm: Bishop McGuinness vs Western Alamance
Game 4 at 6:00pm: Northern Guilford vs Williams
In addition, a youth basketball clinic will be held the morning of the event, open to boys and girls ages 8-13 in Alamance County. Cost will be $10 and each camper will receive instruction from players and coaches of the participating high school teams as well as a camp t-shirt.
Williams High School has currently secured former college coach Jane Albright, as a featured guest speaker for the clinic. WHS is also reaching out to additional prominent figures in women's basketball, to be featured as well.
