The Alamance-Burlington School System announces Mrs. Monique Holmes as the new Assistant Principal at Eastlawn Global Elementary School.
Mrs. Holmes brings 18 years of educational experience to her new role, returning to ABSS where she began her career in 2007 as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at Walter M. Williams High School. Her experience spans four districts—Alamance, Forsyth, Pennsville Township (NJ), and Orange Counties—with teaching licenses in both North Carolina and New Jersey.
She was honored as the 2022 NCCAT Orange County Schools Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year and most recently served as Assistant Principal Intern at Grady Brown Elementary and River Park Elementary in Orange County Schools.
Mrs. Holmes is a North Carolina A&T graduate with degrees in Child Development and Family Studies and Teaching in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. She recently completed her Master of School Administration at North Carolina Central University, where she was named a CCP3/North Carolina Principal Fellow.
As a mother of two sons in elementary and middle school, Mrs. Holmes brings both professional expertise and parent perspective to her leadership role.
