Finance

Mr. Messer presented a summary of the local expense expansion for 2025-2026, along with a preview of potential budget requests in 2026-2027. Potential budget request items for 2026-2027 included:

  • certified employee supplement increase

  • classified employee supplement increase

  • athletic supplement increase

  • operational/technology increases

  • certified staff additions - instructional coaches, school counselors, assistant principals

  • employee benefit cost increases

  • academic software

Additionally, Mr. Messer presented a contract for the 2025-2026 external audit to be performed by Anderson, Smith & Wike. The contract, not to exceed $81,650 in local expense funds, was unanimously approved by the Board of Education.

Curriculum

Dr. McWherter presented a mid-year academic performance update. He shared first semester high school exam data, which shows growth across the district in Biology (+7.64%), English II (+7.60%), Math I (+17.66%), and Math III (+3.67%).

Operations

Mr. Hook presented the Capital Outlay Plan and Capital Improvement Plan for 2026-2027 through 2030-2031. These plans will be included in the district budget request to the County, and Mr. Hook will attend an upcoming Board of Commissioners meeting to make the request for available bond funds to support current safety needs across the district.

Personnel Report

Ms. Anderson presented the personnel report for approval. The report was approved unanimously.
