The Alamance-Burlington School System is thrilled to welcome Dr. Heather Lohr as the new principal of E.M. Yoder Elementary School. Dr. Lohr joins the ABSS leadership team with an extensive background in literacy development, instructional leadership, and community collaboration.
Dr. Lohr brings a diverse and accomplished portfolio to her new role at E.M. Yoder. Her career began in the classroom, where she spent over four years supporting exceptional children. She later expanded her impact as a Lead Teacher and District Summer School Coordinator before moving into school administration, serving as an Assistant Principal within Davidson County Schools for ten years. Most recently, she drove district-wide instructional success as the District Elementary ELA & Social Studies Lead Teacher for Randolph County Schools.
An academic achiever, Dr. Lohr is a proud graduate of Le Moyne College and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She also earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from High Point University.
Dr. Lohr is eager to channel her expertise into building a thriving, supportive environment for the students and staff at E.M. Yoder.

"I look forward to bringing my experiences in literacy, instructional leadership, and building strong school communities to ABSS. I am excited to listen, learn, and partner with the E.M. Yoder community to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed."
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Lohr stays highly active. She loves spending quality time with her family, traveling, hiking, and running. As an avid reader, she is a firm believer in the transformative power of literacy, noting that books "inspire curiosity, spark imagination, and create lifelong learners."
