Hello parents of second graders,
All second grade students in the Alamance-Burlington School System
will be assessed using the Naglieri General Abilities Test (NGAT) in the spring. This online assessment is an integrated series of tests that provide information on the level of development of general and specific cognitive abilities. Please click on the link below for more information about the NGAT. After Spring Break, more information will come home on when Elon students will be taking the test.

On Friday, Principal Davern announced his retirement to the Elon staff and community. Dr. Davern served as principal for 13 years at Elon. We are thankful for his dedication to the Elon students, families, staff, and community. 🌟✨Congratulations🎉! Elon Elementary ❤ Dr. Davern!
Shedding some light 💡 on history! Fourth graders explored NC's "Graveyard of the Atlantic" and the role of lighthouses in the 1700-1800s. They created digital timelines, presentations, map projects & impressive model lighthouses. Thanks to Ms. House for leading the project!

🤖 3rd grade students expanded their knowledge of division ➗ to program their robot, Dot, to check their work. Elon even had a special visitor, State Senator Galey, come to the classroom to watch how students are engaged with robots and mathematical standards. #PhoenixTakeFlight

Music to our ears! 🎶 The Western Alamance Middle School Beginning Band visited Elon Elementary and Altamahaw OssipeeElementary to put on a special performance and tell students about the benefits of music! Making music uniquely develops focus, memory, coordination, and problem-solving skills. It's a brain booster! 🧠 Although just beginning, these students are going to be making big (sound) waves!
