Hiring announcement for Joanna Gwynn

The Alamance-Burlington School System announces Ms. JoAnna Gwynn as the new Assistant Principal at Graham High School and Graham Middle School. Ms. Gwynn brings extensive educational leadership experience to her new role, returning to ABSS where she previously served as a Freshman Seminar Teacher at Walter M. Williams High School. Her diverse experience spans multiple districts including Caswell County Schools and Rockingham County Schools, where she most recently served as Assistant Principal at Reidsville High School and is currently serving as Interim Assistant Principal at Broadview Middle School.

Ms. Gwynn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in International Studies from Greensboro College, where she also earned her Middle Grades Certification for 6-9 Social Studies. She continued her education with a Master of School Administration from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University, an Education Specialist degree from Gardner-Webb University, and earned her NCPAPA Distinguished Leadership in Practice Certification. Her professional achievements include being named N.L. Dillard Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2009, Wells Fargo District Principal of the Year in both 2015 and 2017, and serving as a keynote speaker at the DPI Assistant Principals Leadership Conference.
