Dr. Jennifer Reed is the principal of Hillcrest Elementary. This will be her fifth year as the principal, but her eighteenth year as an administrator. Prior to becoming an administrator, she was an academic coach, a reading recovery teacher, as well as a classroom teacher all in Alamance-Burlington Schools. Dr. Reed is a graduate from Elon University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. 

She has a passion for coaching students and teachers to constantly improve themselves. This school year, Hillcrest will be implementing Leader in Me to improve the school by empowering students with leadership and life skills they will need in the 21st century.

Mrs. Simmons has served as an Educator and Counselor since 2007. She has had the privilege of instructing and counseling students for Pitt County Schools, Guilford County Schools, and the adult population at Pitt Community College. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated© and a 3-time PIRATE of East Carolina University. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreational Therapy, a Master of Arts in Teaching degree, and a Master of Science degree in Counselor Education. Most recently, Mrs. Simmons earned a Master in School Administration degree as a graduate of the inaugural class of the Central Carolina Principal Preparation Program at North Carolina Central University. When Mrs. Simmons is not busy with work and school, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and relaxing at home!
