Math Madness Night will be Tuesday, March 18th from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm. We will have math games, dinner, and BINGO! We hope you can join us!
Newlin's PTO hosted a Sneaker Ball event on Friday night! Students came out dressed their best in their sneakers! It was a lot of fun! We appreciate all of the students and families that came out to support this event! Mr. Price, Principal and Ms. Allen, Assistant Principal even came out in their J's! We hope to host more events like this in the future!
The Sneaker Ball will be Friday from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. ACC, Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade parents must attend with their child. 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders can be dropped off, but must be picked up by 8:00 pm. Parents/guardians will need to sign your child in. Admission is $5.00 per child. Adults are free.

Just a reminder: Tomorrow, Friday, February 28, 2025 will be a make up day for the day missed on Feb. 19th due to inclement weather. Again, tomorrow, Friday, February 28, 2025 will be a normal school day (previously a teacher workday).
3rd-5th grade students will be taking the NC Check-Ins assessments next week beginning Monday, Feb. 24th-Thursday, Feb. 27th. Please be sure students arrive to school on time! Once testing begins, students will not be allowed to enter their classrooms. They will have to wait in another room until testing is complete.
Sneakerball Update: Due to the uncertainty of the weather, the Sneakerball has been postponed to Friday, March 7, 2025 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. We are looking forward to this event!
Due to the weather forecast, school will be closed for students and staff on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. The make up day will be February 28, 2025, that was originally scheduled as a teacher workday.
Just a reminder: PTO Meeting will be tomorrow from 4:30 pm-5:30 pm. We will be planning our Spring Fling Event. We hope you can join us!
Today we dedicated our newly paved walking track to our PE teacher, Coach Todd McKInney. Coach McKinney has dedicated 26 years to Newlin and he does so much for Newlin. He has built so many positive relationships with our students and staff and we are thankful to have him apart of the Newlin family.

Our 2nd quarter awards ceremony will be on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. ACC, Pre-K, K-2 awards ceremony will begin at 8:15 am. Grades 3-5 awards ceremony will begin at 9:30 am. Your child's teacher will reach out to you if your child will receive an award.

Our Instructional Leadership Team shared some holiday cheer to our staff today. Staff were appreciative to be able to pick something from the hot chocolate/coffee cart, as well as partake in their choice of biscuits/sausage balls. We are thankful for our staff and wish them a Happy Holiday!
Winter break will be Dec. 23-Jan. 3. Students will return to school on Mon. Jan. 6th.
Reminder: Join Dr. Fleming, the Superintendent, at "Subs with the Super" Event at various locations on various dates. These meet and greet sessions are designed to strengthen connections with ABSS families and gather valuable feedback about our schools. Families can attend any session regardless of your school zone.
