Due to the forecast of below-freezing temperatures accompanied by precipitation, ABSS will be closed for all students and staff tomorrow, Friday, December 5th. This includes all after-school activities. We have made this decision out of caution to ensure the safety of our school community.
During Monday's Board of Education meeting, the 2026-2027 academic calendar's latest draft was unanimously approved. The updated version moves required workdays to Monday or Friday. When that school lunch hits just right! Pleasant Grove Elementary Principal Shanice Goldsby, AP Imani Small, and Intervention Specialist Annabell Jones treated staff to a duty-free lunch with doughnuts and made these students feel extra special going into the weekend. Have a fantastic Friday!

Thursday, May 1st, is National School Principals' Day. Pleasant Grove wants to express our appreciation for Shanise Goldsby- our AMAZING principal!
The PGE Book Vending Machine is Up and Running! On Thursday, April 3, Ms Goldsby cut the ribbon, and our first group of students were able to select a free book to keep! There has been smiles and excitement throughout the school over the titles inside. Be on the lookout--your student may be coming home with a book.

We host a monthly FREE Fresh Mobile Market at North Park (Address: 817 Sharpe Rd, Burlington, NC 27217) on the 1st Saturday of every month at 10:30 am. The next Fresh Mobile Market at North Park is on Saturday, April 5, at 10:30 am.
At our Fresh Mobile Markets, we distribute free fresh produce and non-perishable items to members of the community. These drive-thru style food distribution services are intended for all families with school-age children in need of food. ALL families who meet this criterion are welcomed regardless of immigration status.
