Due to continued hazardous road conditions, we will transition to a Remote Learning Day on Tuesday, January 27. This means all schools and facilities will be closed for students and staff. Students should work on their remote learning assignments. No athletics or afterschool activities. Remote Learning Days are flexible school days where students work at their own pace on posted assignments, also known as asynchronous work. While there are no required live classes, teachers are available during optional office hours if students have questions. Students are expected to complete all activities and reach out to their teachers if they need assistance. Work is due within five days of returning to school. We are closely monitoring the incoming winter weather. Students are bringing learning packets home today for potential remote instruction. If power outages occur, we may move to a full closure instead. Safety is our priority! Watch for updates via call, text, email, social media, and posted on our website.

Due to the forecast of below-freezing temperatures accompanied by precipitation, ABSS will be closed for all students and staff tomorrow, Friday, December 5th. This includes all after-school activities. We have made this decision out of caution to ensure the safety of our school community.

During Monday's Board of Education meeting, the 2026-2027 academic calendar's latest draft was unanimously approved. The updated version moves required workdays to Monday or Friday. The PGE Book Vending Machine is Up and Running! On Thursday, April 3, Ms Goldsby cut the ribbon, and our first group of students were able to select a free book to keep! There has been smiles and excitement throughout the school over the titles inside. Be on the lookout--your student may be coming home with a book.

We host a monthly FREE Fresh Mobile Market at North Park (Address: 817 Sharpe Rd, Burlington, NC 27217) on the 1st Saturday of every month at 10:30 am. The next Fresh Mobile Market at North Park is on Saturday, April 5, at 10:30 am.
At our Fresh Mobile Markets, we distribute free fresh produce and non-perishable items to members of the community. These drive-thru style food distribution services are intended for all families with school-age children in need of food. ALL families who meet this criterion are welcomed regardless of immigration status.
