Sylvan School Performance

We are excited to share some encouraging news from our 2025–2026 School Performance data! While we know there is still work ahead, this year’s results give us several reasons to celebrate and show that Sylvan is moving forward.

Our overall School Performance Score increased from 44 to 45, and our overall growth measure improved from the previous year. Even more exciting was the tremendous progress we saw in Reading. Our Reading Performance Score increased 10 points—from 35 to 45, and our Reading Growth Score jumped from 61.8 to 80.9, moving Reading from Not Met Growth to Met Growth!

We are especially proud of the progress made by our Economically Disadvantaged Students (EDS). Their performance score increased from 37 to 41, moving from an F to a D, while their growth improved enough to move from Not Met to Met Growth.

We also saw some exciting grade-level bright spots, including 5th Grade Reading proficiency increasing from 32.7% to 46.5% and 5th Grade Math proficiency increasing from 36.7% to 44.2%.

These numbers represent much more than percentages on a report. They represent children who grew, teachers who worked tirelessly, families who supported learning at home, and a school community that continues to believe in what our Blue Jays can accomplish.

We know our work isn't finished—and we aren't satisfied with simply staying where we are. We will continue building on what worked, strengthening instruction, and focusing intensely on the areas where our students need us most.

How Families Can Help Us Keep Growing

We need you on our team! Families play an important role in helping us build on this momentum. You can support our Blue Jays by making daily attendance and arriving on time a priority, reading with or encouraging your child to read at home each day, practicing foundational math skills, asking your child what they learned at school—not just what they did—and staying connected with your child’s teacher about their progress. Most importantly, help us reinforce the message that learning can be challenging, and that’s okay! Encourage your child to persevere, give their best effort, learn from mistakes, and take pride in their growth. When school and home communicate the same high expectations and work together, our students have an even stronger team behind them.

Our theme this year is “One Team. One Goal. Step Up to the Plate!” These results remind us what can happen when our students, staff, and families work together as one team. We are proud of the progress we've made, excited about where we're headed, and ready to keep swinging for even greater growth.

Thank you for believing in Sylvan, supporting our teachers, and partnering with us for our Blue Jays. The best innings of our story are still ahead! 💙🐦⚾

One Team. One Goal. Step Up to the Plate!
