Western Alamance High School Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) Cadet’s Brayden Perfertto and Joseph Versace have completed the Navy JROTC’s Sailing Academy Course at Moncks Corner, South Carolina.  The program is managed by NJROTC Area 6 featuring 46 cadets of the 6000 NJROTC cadets from over 65 units in North and South Carolina.

The goal of the course is to stress the concept professionalism and teamwork. Teamwork comes in handy when the cadets set sail and are then tipped over, have to upright their boat, and clear out excessive amounts of water in the bottom of the craft in order to move forward.

The Sailing Academy also gives cadets a better perspective on leadership qualities in hopes that they can go back to their school and build a stronger and more cohesive NJROTC Unit.

Congratulations to these students on the completion of this program.
