The Alamance-Burlington School System Board of Education announced the appointment of Dr. Anthony Tracey as the new principal of Graham High School. The decision was officially approved during the Board's meeting on April 28, 2025.
Dr. Tracey brings more than 22 years of diverse and impactful educational experience to his new role. His career includes experience as a classroom teacher, school leader, and trainer in both Jamaica and North Carolina. Most recently, he served as a principal in Halifax County Schools, North Carolina.
Throughout his career, Dr. Tracey has remained deeply committed to teaching and learning, prioritizing the success of both students and teachers. His leadership philosophy centers on building strong relationships, fostering a culture of excellence, and partnering with families and the broader community to support every child's growth and achievement.
"I am honored and excited to join the Graham High School community," said Dr. Tracey. "My goal is to work collaboratively with our dedicated staff, students, and families to create an environment where every student can thrive academically and personally. Together, we will build on the school's strengths and continue to provide an outstanding education that prepares our students for lifelong success."
Dr. Tracey's academic background reflects his deep passion for educational leadership. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Teachers' Education from G.C. Foster College in Jamaica and a Master of Education degree from The Mico University College, also in Jamaica. He later earned both a Master's in Educational Leadership and a Post-Master's Certificate in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University in Charlotte, North Carolina. Most recently, he completed a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University.
