Dedicated Coaching

The success of our teams would not have been possible without the dedication of our coaches who spent many hours preparing students for the competition:

  • Daniel Flack - Alexander Wilson Elementary

  • Amy Gates - Elon Elementary

  • Christine Landess - B. Everett Jordan Elementary

  • Racheal Harder - Grove Park Elementary

Their expertise, patience, and enthusiasm for science education have inspired our students to explore, question, and discover the wonders of science through hands-on learning experiences.

The Science Olympiad Experience

Science Olympiad competitions are designed to promote teamwork while challenging students in various scientific disciplines. Elementary Science Olympiad events include a variety of hands-on activities spanning life science, physical science, earth science, technology, and engineering.

Students participate in collaborative events that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical application of scientific principles. Unlike traditional science fairs, Science Olympiad requires students to actively engage in science during the competition, applying their knowledge to solve problems and complete tasks in real time.

Community Support

A special thanks goes to LabCorp for their generous grant support this year. This vital funding enabled us to:

  • Send coaches to the Coaches' Clinic for professional development

  • Cover team registration fees

  • Purchase necessary materials and supplies for competition preparation

  • Provide stipends for coaches

LabCorp's commitment to promoting STEM education in Alamance County has made a significant difference in the quality and accessibility of science education for our students.

We also extend our gratitude to Alamance Community College for hosting the elementary tournament. ACC's partnership has provided an inspiring collegiate environment for our young scientists and a professional venue for the competition.

Congratulations to all participants, coaches, and schools on a successful 2025 Elementary Science Olympiad Tournament!
