We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sean McWherter as the new Assistant Superintendent of Academics. Dr. McWherter brings nearly two decades of experience in public education, with leadership roles spanning elementary, middle, and high school settings, as well as extensive district-level expertise. Throughout his career, he has led impactful initiatives such as Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and Advanced Teaching Roles, all aimed at elevating student achievement and supporting instructional excellence.

Dr. McWherter has a strong background in both instruction and operations, having supported low-performing schools, managed federal programs and district budgets, and overseen key departments including transportation, student services, and academic programming. He is also a published author with contributions in EdWeek and Routledge on topics ranging from PLCs to supporting English Language Learners.
